An LDS Recording of Epic Proportions
A recording
session of “The Power and the Glory” at St. Johns Smith Square in
London, England utilizing 300 musicians.
Have
you ever wondered why someone hasn't harnessed major talent in the
music and film industries to create a magnificent musical work for
the restored church? Like a musical soundtrack of a major motion
picture, but utilizing the music of inspired Latter-day hymns. It
is here: “The Power and the Glory” utilized talents of multiple
music industry icons with a 100 piece orchestra, 180 voice adult
choir, children’s choir, pipe organ and antiphonal brass. Four years
in the making with uncompromising standards, this album is becoming
an LDS classic.
Anthems
of Praise
"Camarata has transformed the most popular LDS hymns into Anthems
of Praise. This music is beautiful, powerful and deeply moving.
The Power and the Glory is a spiritual resource and should be in
the home of every Latter-day saint." Ed Pinegar, well known
LDS author & speaker
This
Music Transcends the Veil
“Taste this incredibly impressive rendition of inspired music for
Latter-day Saints. Camarata has, indeed, qualified popular LDS hymns
as true anthems of praise. This beautiful music transcends the veil
with its powerful and moving spiritual attributes. Larry Hunter’s

Musical Pictures
Camarata scored each hymn by carefully studying it’s music, words
and reading it’s history. His goal was to paint musical pictures
of what the words and background implied. “Come, Come, Ye Saints”
starts with the sounds of wagons and a lone harmonica playing the
melody. As the music builds, you can almost feel the challenges,
trials and sorrows of their journey. Then experience the joy, as
the saints triumphantly enter the Salt Lake Valley and heavenly
hosts burst into song. In a nine minute rendition of “The Spirit
of God”, musical pictures are painted which follow events at the
dedication of the Kirtland Temple. Other selections on the album
include: O My Father, I Believe in Christ, Families Can Be Together
Forever, I Stand All Amazed, Beautiful Savior, I Know That My Redeemer
Lives, Because I Have Been Given Much, I Need Thee Every Hour and
I Know My Father Lives.
