. . . . I have listened to "The Power and the Glory" about fifteen times now. Usually, I can easily pick out my favorite songs on a CD. Like most people, there are two or three songs on each CD that you enjoy and the rest are so-so. The "Power and the Glory" is probably the first CD I've purchased in which I can't identify a favorite. Each hymn is a masterpiece; I say that genuinely. As soon as I enter the door in the evening, I turn it on and it feels as though the spirit permeates the walls of my home. I wonder if I shall ever get tired of it. Susan C. |
Bro. Blakely, I would appreciate the booklet you have on "The Power and the Glory"! I'm loving this CD more and more each time I hear it! My friends in band love the music too! Even though they don't know the words, they feel differently. You've done a great job to incorporate the sacred music into the orchestra. I will most definitely be buying this CD for my seminary teacher when I graduate this year and my friends around Christmas time. Thank you so much for your hard work. Chance H. |
Dear Larry, I listened to the Power and the Glory last night. It is some of the most beautiful, spiritual, and inspirational music I have ever heard in my life. Most music is fine to listen to while you are going about your business doing other things. When that music was playing I just sat down, paid complete attention to it, and let it lift my spirit and inspire me. All of the family loved it. My wife wondered why we hadn't heard of it before. Has it really been out since 1996? Those of you, involved in its production are truly blessed. And the rest of us are blessed for having it to inspire our lives. Bob L. |
Dear Larry, After I read about this music on your web page I went out and bought the cassette and CD. I really love the arrangements, they are beautiful!!!! I have been telling my family and friends about it. I hope you make more of these, they fill your soul. The music has so much feeling and is so soothing. Thank you for fulfilling your dream, it is a beautiful dream! When I am listening to it I almost feel like I am floating on a cloud. Thank you again, Barbara R. |
I'm sending this special bulletin to all my LDS loved ones to let you know that I have just had the extraordinary experience of listening to one of the most magnificent collection of musical arrangements of favorite LDS Hymns it has ever been my privilege to hear! The CD is called The Power and the Glory and it is put out by Celestial Visions, Ltd. We were treated to one song off the CD (Come,Come Ye Saints) in Relief Society on Sunday as our music appreciation time. We were all just blown away by the emotions it evoked. I came home and ordered it the next day and it came this afternoon. I had just finished my work-out, so I showered and climbed back into bed for my meditation time. I soon found myself so moved by the beauty of the music that I had hot tears spilling down my cheeks (I had never noticed that tears have a temperature before). I sat breathlessly wondering what each selection was going to bring out in my emotions and the magnificence of each message. I was so completely made aware of the Lord's love for me and His tender feelings for each of His children. I was touched by the blessing I have of knowing who I am and what my purpose is here on this earth, not having to be confused and searching for what this life is all about. This music was able to reach me in the deepest part of my soul where we are taught by the Spirit, where truth is revealed to us, and where peace fills our hearts. I am blessed with the knowledge that because of His love, I am whole, and he is always near, and this music helped me not only to remember it but to feel it. I am listening to it as I am writing this and I can feel chills running up my arms because of the exquisite sensitivity he has captured in "Come, Come Ye Saints." It is like Camarata was there and walked every step of the way with our courageous and faithful pioneer ancestors. Each and every selection on the album is matched in poignant feelings of truth, majesty, and righteousness with every other. This is something that you won't want to miss, there is no way that I can explain in mere words how wonderful this music is, all I can do is attempt to tell you of the impact it has had on me. Cari |
Bro. Blakely, I don't get on a bandwagon about fads, teams, cloths etc. but I have sent info about "The Power and the Glory" to everyone in my address book to get the CD immediately. Something I've never done before. When will the next volume be out? . . . . Thanks for your devotion and creativity. Hope you sell a million copies!! Bryan E. |
"The Power and Glory" is the best! I listen to it almost every day thanks so much for this beautiful music it is truly heaven sent. Sherry |
Thank you for your vision of creating music that would bring together so beautifully the words and music and of the Latter Day Saint hymns. Only the hardest of hearts could not be moved or softened by these renditions. It has comforted me during my darkest hours, filled me with hope, and renewed my faith. Surely the Lord inspired you work. Debra S. |
I found your package waiting for me when I arrived home. As soon as I could, I sat down and listened to it. It is a lovely recording and very inspiring. I especially enjoyed the "Come, Come Ye Saints." They all gave me "goose bumps" as I listened to them. I find it very difficult to put my feelings about music into words; I feel that music communicates in a way that is so much more profound and spiritual than mere words. These recordings are the best that I have heard of LDS hymn arrangements, bar none. They will have a tremendous impact on the listeners' spirituality. I noticed that you said you were planning to produce more volumes similar to this one. Will they be available soon? I would very much like to buy some as presents for my family & friends. Ann |
Having received my copy of "The Power and the Glory" three days ago, I have already lost count of the number of times I have listened to it; what beautiful music, powerful, passionate, inspiring, it stirs the emotions when heard and remains in the mind when away from it. I can't give thanks enough that this has been made available. Please let me know the moment the next volume is ready. Again, many thanks. David R. |
In French, we say, "C'etait plus fort que moi!" It means, I guess, "It was just stronger than I" meaning I could not have stopped the tears, had I wanted to. I sat with my face in my hands and listened and wiped away tears. "Epic" does not describe the effect, although it comes close. "Biblical proportions" might be more effective. I found myself asking you for other hymns that I love. I thanked you in an audible voice. Then, I turned it on again; and this time, I was on my knees in prayer the whole time. I was profoundly moved. Ricki B. |
I offered a copy of your CD as a gift yesterday. They put it on immediately and loved it SO much! What's not to love? That album is life-changing. With "COME, COME YE SAINTS", when the sound of the wagons, babies crying, etc. comes on...I cry every time! I know it will bring joy that grows exponentially as they become intimate with this album. Sally G. |
Dear Mr. Camarata: Thank you so very much for lending your incredible talent to orchestrate the music for "The Power and the Glory." I was very touched by each piece, but the two that really spoke to my heart were the "Children's Medley" and "Come, Come Ye Saints." I cannot hear either of those pieces without tears. Music has always spoken directly to my heart. I love music. I loving singing it, teaching it, and hearing it, and I thank you, sincerely, for the sweet spirit that this music brings to my soul. I currently teach music to the sweet young children in our church congregation. Almost weekly we learn a new song and I am constantly amazed at how quickly they learn and how well they remember new songs from one week to the next. Because these children are so bright, I have begun teaching them songs in different languages (including sign language) and my only challenge is keeping up with them. Hearing the "Children's Medley" only strengthened my desire to continue teaching the children to sing in many different languages. Thank you, again, for this beautiful music. Sincerely, Anette P. |
Dear Brother Blakely, My name is Julie R. I have just finished listening to your wonderful CD. I was moved by the beautiful renditions of my favorite hymns. I can only imagine the amount of time, energy and prayer that was put into this work. You should be very proud. I know that many spiritual experiences occur when dealing with sacred music. I myself have felt the spirit lift me and help me when performing. Thank you for providing such inspirational and uplifting music. It is truly appreciated. Sincerely, Julie R. |
Please add me to your list to be advised of new recordings I think "The Power & The Glory" is fantastic Many thanks Malcolm M. |
I would like to know when the rest of these albums are finished. I have ordered 6 cds of the first and need more! I have given these copies away, except for one, and all have been spiritually moved by the experience of listening to this music. Please let me know when there is more. Thanks, Bruce M. |
They are absolutely beautiful! I have played the 30 second sound bits over and over......and can't wait until my tape arrives. Breathtaking and inspiring! I'm getting one for every "shut-in" in our ward. What a way to lift their spirits!! Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! Debbie A. |
Howdy! After hearing just one of the sample musical bits from the webpage ("Oh My Father"), I was touched - to the soul! I was amazed at the power I felt from just 30 seconds of music! I listened to several other bits and ordered the CD. Please let me know when future releases come available. Mark P. |
I just received in the mail my CD of "The Power and the Glory" and want you to know that it is the most beautiful versions of these hymns I have ever heard. I have heard these hymns many, many times and yet I felt like I was hearing them for the first time. God Bless you for your endeavors. Judy R. |
Thank you so much for this powerful rendition of a few of our wonderful LDS hymns. It has become one of my most treasured CD's. When I put my headphones on and listen, I am in another dimension and my eyes tear every time. I would certainly appreciate being advised of subsequent volumes. Thank you, Lew G. |
This is the most powerful music I have heard. I bought it today at Deseret Book here in Salt Lake. I bought both the tape (for the car) and the CD (for home). I started listening to it on my way to pick up my Grandson from kindergarten. Tears were streaming down my face. We listened to "Come, Come Ye Saints" after I picked up the car pool. The little kids were so quiet. I knew they recognized the music, but had never heard it before like that. When we got home I put the CD on and listened while I fixed us lunch. All I can say is WOW! I can hardly wait for my husband to get home tonight to listen to it with me. I e-mailed my niece in Boston and told her she has to get this CD. She plays the viola beautifully and is in many orchestra groups in Boston. She hopes someday to get with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She e-mailed me right back and said she would order it through this site. I am telling all my music friends, "Get this music for your family." Thank you again, and again. As you can probably guess, I LOVED it. Please let us know when other volumes become available. DeAnn L. |
I just received the copy of "The power and the Glory," it is so beautiful that it makes me cry. Thank you so much for this music. Sincerely, John R.t |
Dear creators, I had heard your album before, but seeing some of the background on it was really impressive. Thanks for sharing with us the beauty and depth of the vision of not only music, but more importantly God's unfailing love. Wishing you continued success in all you endeavors, Rich S. |
Just a comment on the CD that you are advertising this morning...I was given this CD by the man who produced it. It is a wonderful CD to listen to. Very calming. Even the children like it. Very relaxing. I have recommended it to many friends on the net...and they have bought it and say the same thing. Mary |
Please advise me as soon as vol 2 is release. The power of this music is God sent! It absolutely unbelievable! God bless you all in this great work. Marven B. |
I just purchased the "The Power and the Glory" at the Deseret Book Store in Provo. It is so magnificent I had to write and express it to you, less you would think it have been in vain. Your 30 year dream was worth the effort -- I love church hymns, but never have they stirred my soul as they did under these arrangements. Glorious is as close to covering how they made me feel. I will certainly pass on my feelings to all who will listen. George R. |
I can't tell you how the "Come, Come Ye Saints" version in your CD stirred my soul and gave me thanks for the pioneer spirit which prevailed, despite the hardships. We can do no less to guard "the Legacy" and I would be remiss if I did not give you my thanks for this most inspiring work ever! The selections were perfect, in fact, everything was absolutely first class, there could be NO improvement. I know you will bless many lives with this important work. When I was the RS President -- I used "Because I Have Been Given Much" as the RS anthem. You have done it justice and it will warm many a heart. Pinkie R. |
Dear Mr. Camarata: By now, you must have received many expressions of congratulations, joy, and thanks for your inspired work on "The Power and The Glory." Please allow me to add my humble "thank you" to them. Also, please let me tell you of just one of my responses to the music. Although I have always been profoundly impressed with the words of "I Believe in Christ", I have never really enjoyed the music to that hymn very much. Your treatment of it, however, has become one of my favorites on the album, and has increased my enjoyment of the hymn many fold. Thank you for adding that joy to my life. I'm sure I join many others in hoping the sales of this first album will increase to the point that other albums can be added, until the entire series is done. You vision of this music, and the inspiration for it given to you by our Heavenly Father, is too important to be lost. Most sincerely, Richard T. |
I just want you to know that Larry Hunter still feels that "The Power and the Glory" is a RICH spiritual resource and should be in the home of every Latter-day Saint . It is, indeed, "music from beyond the veil." As a matter of fact my copy of your wonderful CD was given to a close friend and Protestant Minister who is a prison chaplain here in Arizona. He borrowed it several months ago and liked it so much that I suggested he keep it! I wish the best success in your endeavors. Have a wonderful holiday season. Sincerely, Larry H. |
I was a recipient of a copy of the CD, "The Power and The Glory." I was asked to listen to it with an ear to the CES classroom. I took the CD home and with my wife listened to the marvelous composition. We have listened to that recording several times now, each time I feel not only the lift of my spirit but also the urging from within to be a better person, to be more like I should be. I thank you gratefully for your kindness to include CES in your circle of concern and graciousness. I have personally heard from the area directors in Canada, the Midwest, and the Northern Plains how wonderful they feel the music is and how perfect the CD is for setting a spiritual climate in the classrooms. Again, in deep gratitude for the kindness of your gift to many. Ross C. |
I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you for dinner and also for that awesome music that you have created. I felt the spirit very strong, and I can honestly say that last night was one of the most spiritual experiences that I've had on my mission. I was raised in a very musical home. Music means a lot to me in my life, and your music is a very powerful witness of the faithfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Sincerely, Sister J. |
The year: 2000. The 635 Loop North through Dallas traffic, heading westward into the sun, oblivious to all around except the passing cars. Opened the sunroof and turned the volume high on the stereo. Readied for what I sensed was to be a moving experience, I pushed the track button on the cd player to track #8. "Come, Come, Ye Saints." Sounds of horses, overcome by the gentle sound of a harmonica. A baby cries. A driver encourages his team and the wagons roll on. My heart races and tears fill my eyes. Not willing to patiently wait to hear each song in order, I flip to another favorite. Track #3. Where "Come, Come, Ye Saints" brought tears to my eyes, "The Spirit of God" took my breath away and sent chills through my body to my feet. Unable to resist any longer what I knew would be an emotional experience, I forwarded to Track 10, my mother's favorite song which she requested for her funeral. Now the tears that previously graced my cheeks flooded my face as I thought how she would have loved this version of "Because I Have Been Given Much" as it filled the afternoon air! What a gift you've given! You've made "the air with music ring", causing hearts to "shout praises to our God and King." It's absolutely fantastic as I listen now....from beginning to end. The chills continue, song after song. I can't wait to share it with my family and friends! Jan |
